Choo Chooing at the LCCA Convention in Chattanooga!

The LCCA’s week long Convention is now in full swing at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel in Tennessee. Our Chief Traingineer, Roger Farkash with his Traingineer’s George and Roy as well as Lionel’s Tom Nuzzo were spotted just the other day… stopping this train!

AOn display in the hotel lobby is the World Famous Lionel Layout (designed in 2008 by Roger Farkash) where the LCCA Members get a close up (and in some cases) a hands on experience running trains!

Tonight (being July 17th ) at 7:00 pm, Roger Farkash will be giving one of his AMAZING and extremely educational seminars on “scenically making it happen on YOUR layout”… that would be my title of the seminar not sure the “official” title 🙂

Also on display at this year’s Convention is the Texas Scenic Modular Layout which incorporates the LCCA/Lionel Modular into a way cool layout which is catching on big time with modular train clubs across the country.

Here is a collage I did showing off our TrainWorx Modular *Coveralls:

CoverallsI’ll be joining the Traingineers tomorrow and will be sure to update my blog with more photos and fun stories from my adventures at the LCCA Convention at the Choo Choo Chattanooga Hotel. (Don’t ya just smile at the name of the hotel??)

Traindame meets Warren Buffett

Since 2010, Chief Traingineer, Roger Farkash along with Traingineers George Watson and Mike Ellis have had the opportunity to meet and have pictures taken with the “Oracle of Omaha” Warren Buffett and a dream of mine was to be included in on the fun this year!

Well my friends…dreams do come true!!

I have had the pleasure of corresponding with Mr. Buffett via email since last fall when along with sending him a photo book I’d made of the BNSF layout process, I also invited him to our first TrainWorx Layout Festival (he would’ve been there but was attending his high school reunion). I asked if I could get my photo taken with him at this year’s Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder’s meeting, as well as have him sign my copy of the BNSF photo book… arrangements were made, the time was set and this lady had the rare opportunity and pleasure of meeting and getting pictures with a truly remarkable man on May 3, 2013 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Scratch that off the bucket list 🙂

Mr. Matt Rose, the CEO of BNSF was also there and he chimed right up and said…”Ok now, it’s time for the annual TrainWorx picture” How awesome is that???

Here is the photo he took with my iPhone – left to right; Traingineer George Watson, Mr. Buffett, Traindame, Chief Traingineer, Roger Farkash and Traingineer, Mike Ellis:

National Parks Railway

Sign

Last Sunday, Roger and I attended the monthly North Texas Chapter of the Lone Star Division of the TCA club meeting which was held at fellow member, Don Hughes home, where he opened up the building that houses his awesome train layout, The Hughes National Parks Railway.

All 40+ of the members who were in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the time spent being able see all the different National Parks depicted on the layout, run trains and special surprise bonus was the scenic mountain mini seminar Mindy (Don’s daughter) shared with us! As you will see, this is an awesome layout…a true labor of love that Don and Mindy worked on for over a decade!

Now entering…National Parks Railway – ENJOY!!!
