Five Days until… 5th Annual Layout Festival

**Attention… THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!

In five days…Saturday, April 1st… at 10:00 am – YOU will want to be at the World Famous… TW TrainWorx 5th Annual Layout Festival! We have over 100 *Traintastic Train Loving People signed up from; Florida, Oklahoma, North Carolina, California, Arizona, Missouri, Louisiana, and of course the Lonestar State of TEXAS, ALL ready and raring to participate in all the Festival Festivities!!!

Our Layout Festival benefits the incredible, wonderful, and amazing organization – The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Dallas and in particular supports the ongoing #1, MAIN fund raiser for the house, The Trains at NorthPark! With part of the proceeds going to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities, we do charge admission (10/person – $20/family – $5 Students) and this year we are honoring our Veterans with a special $5 ticket price!

We have a blast opening the TW TrainWorx doors to our 25,000 sq. ft. studio – what an incredible opportunity for YOU to get not only a behind the scenes look at on going TrainWorx projects, but also have the opportunity to rub elbows with the best of the best in the industry! Representatives from the; Lionel Collector’s Club of America, BNSF Police, Lionel Modular Club as well as vendors traveling in from Denver, Houston, East Texas and Missouri will be on hand.

With only *5 days remaining till the Festival, the Traingineers are multi-focused on festival preparations as well as all the projects currently on the studio floor; five residential layouts, sculpture of 7′ figure and 7′ bow, high end furniture pieces, and fabulous diorama for the New York Historical Society and of course Chief Traingineer, Roger Farkash, and our East Coast Director, Mike Reagan, are brainstorming new and Traintastically Wonderful, products and services we can bring to YOU!!

One of our Tip Top Layout Customers was getting a bit concerned that we may be “too busy” to have started on his layout so I put together this video as *Proof* … We Be JAMMING!! Enjoy : )

1.2 Million Pounds…On The Move

That’s right! The UP 4018 Big Boy was on the move yesterday on its way to Frisco, Texas where it will join the other Museum of the American Railroad trains!

Yesterday afternoon, Roger returned from the Lionel Customer Service open house to find out the move was on – so he got off the plane…jumped in the car…and tracked down the Big Boy just before sunset:

Get a load of these stats:

The Big Boy hits the scales at 1.2 Million pounds! Required 26 tons of coal, 25,000 gallons of water to be able to pull a 5 mile long train! Wowzers – that’s a BIG BOY.

I thought it’d be great to have the BIG BOY first make an appearance at our 2nd Annual Layout Festival but knew that’d be out of the question, however I’ve got the next best thing – representatives from the Museum of American Railroad will be on hand to share information on all the wonderful trains they have for their new Museum in Frisco. Plus we’ll have representatives from BNSF at the Festival who are the REAL TRAIN MOVERS getting the Big Boy to its new home!! Additionally – we will have a BNSF Railroad Officer here and I’m working on having a BNSF patrol car here as well…this just in – Lionel’s Mike Reagan is confirmed to be here!!

The Traingineers are in FULL PREPARATION mode for the *MUST* attend Layout Festival of a lifetime! New this year; Vendor Tables – so YOU will be able to
start YOUR Christmas shopping EARLY – Ho HO HO!

Festival hours are from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Once you’ve parked (for FREE)
here’s what to expect:

  • Over 14 different layouts all in varying stages of completion that you will experience up close and personal! Thanks to our friends at BNSF we will again be featuring the train layout that Warren Buffett called “A Masterpiece!” Folks…this is the ONLY time YOU (the public) can experience Mr. Buffett’s…I mean BNSF’s layout!!

  • Speaking of BNSF…there will be representatives on hand from not only BNSF but: the Museum of American Railroad, Lionel Toy Trains, Lionel Collector’s Club of America, Ronald McDonald House of Dallas…and more being added!

  • 10 Vendors will be on hand with unique train related goodies for you to start some early Christmas shopping!

  • **Door prizes**  **Chinese Raffle**  **Food Trucks** **Live Music** **Lenny the Lion** **FUN-FUN-FUN**

Admission is $10.00/person – $20.00/family – Part of the proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas and there is a strong possibility that Ronald himself
will be making an appearance this year!
