Happy New Year – 2019

Day 1 in the New Year and this TrainDame is looking at what promises to be a very adventurous year ahead! So much to be grateful for!!! First and foremost; all of our Traintastic Customers, Trainiac Friends, and all the Traingineers that pour their talents into each of the amazing residential and commercial TW TrainWorx Custom Train Layouts produced in 2018!

2018 was a monumental record breaker for us; we designed/fabricated/installed over twenty two custom layouts from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Windsor, Canada and I’ve got some exciting news to share. TW TrainWorx was awarded two Commercial Layout contracts – those being: The Kansas City Union Station Museum is creating a trained themed children’s museum in their existing, Science City – Science Center and both Roger Farkash and Mike Reagan completed the site survey last month. Next up is going to be a custom Holiday layout for the lobby of a skyscraper in Charlotte, NC that we must thank our dear friends at Lionel for recommending us to the firm; Roger’s and Gala whom we’ll be working closely with to produce this train layout.

The first quarter 2019 design calendar for Chief Traingineer, Roger Farkash is… FULL and the second quarter has only TWO spots left as we had the most ever sign-offs for new design/fabrication in December that was indeed a wonderful gift to close out our 2018 year.

This weekend, Saturday, January 5th – TW TrainWorx will be attending the TCA Houston Show that opens at 8:30 am – one day only – here is more information for you: Lone Star Division Meet We’d love to see you and make some Traintastic Memories 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to shop till you drop at our online store: http://www.twtrainworxstore.com.

Wishing everyone a Traintastically Blessed, Healthy, Happy NEW YEAR!!

Happy Tracks!

Locomotive Service Yard Addition

Roger and I had the pleasure of traveling up to see our favorite Amarillo customer, Tom Campbell, to install a very cool enhancement to his TrainWorx custom layout, the High Plains Division of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway.

Roger started collaborating with Tom in 2012 to realize his desire of having a train layout that would reflect features of the High Plains and Santa Fe style engineering. Tom has a wonderful 30 plus year history of actually working on the Santa Fe RR as an Engineer/Manager and he wanted his layout to reflect just that.

Our two day enhancement installation focused on this area that Tom had cleared out for his Locomotive Service Yard… aka – BEFORE SHOTS:

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with both Roger and Tom experiencing two days of listening to Tom’s great railroad stories and there really is nothing better than watching Roger in action and witnessing how he ties everything together as if the Service Yard had always been on Tom’s layout.
Please enjoy the AFTER SHOTS:

TrainWorx Chief Traingineer, gave me the green light to offer up a Spring York Special for the Pennsy Station which will be sold for $300.00 BELOW retail price! BUT… (oh those darn buts) there is a catch.

2013 Spring York event is April 18th thru the 20th and our Traingineers will have 12 and only 12 Stations fully assembled, painted, lit, and boxed ready to come with us to our booth in the Orange Hall – JJ11, making it easy breezy for you York attendees to pick up your Pennsy while at York!   Sweet deal right?

Well, make that 10 Stations…seriously – – news is out and these stations are going faster than the Japan Fast Train. So – you’re not going to attend the Spring York Event? Excellent – we’ll ship it to you when we get back from York which will make your Pennsy up and on display in your digs by May 1st – what a fabulous way to start your summer off!!!

BNSF Train Layout: Design, Build, Install by T W TrainWorx

From the very beginning, when Roger Farkash received the call from BNSF to design, build, and install a train layout for the 2012 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder’s Meeting, his creative energies cranked into high gear!

Objective:

Design, fabricate and outfit a custom, 256 Square Foot, 8’ x 32’ castered table and train layout.

Some of the fun stuff:

  • Mountain and elevated theme recognizable asCajonPass & TwoMedicineBridge.
  • Remaining table surface divided into industrial sidings and city /small town elements depicting industries serviced by BNSF and/or associates with BH companies.
  • Table Base: Eight 4’ x 8’ platforms mounted on steel wagons with 5’ casters.
  • Table Top: Aprox. 50 buildings (both standard & custom)
  • Video Billboards: Six 7” video billboards mounted and wired.
  • Track: approximately 330 feet, switches, bumpers, trestles, bridges and railings.
  • Trains: Six engines. Sixty various cars.
  • Wiring: track and accessories in modular format for rapid assembly and dismantle.
  • Controls: Transformers, wiring and relays with custom rack. Two Lionel Legacy control systems.

Requirement:

  • Keep it under wraps until May 5, 2012 debut in Omaha,Nebraska (killer accomplishment for Traindame!)

 Results:

  • “This is a masterpiece!” – Warren Buffet, March 5th, 2012
