Hat-Trick for TW TrainWorx!!

What’s the best way to start the New Year?? Attending not 1… not 2… but 3 live train events all in the great Lone Star State of Texas and that is exactly what the Traingineers did starting with the Katy, Texas TCA Lone Star Division Meet, then to the Houston, Texas for the World’s Greatest Hobby Show and back to Plano, Texas for the North Texas Counsel of Railroad Club’s 29th Annual Train Meet!!

Best part?? Being with fellow Train Nuts to start the year off perfectly!

Tis the Season!!

Oh I love this time of year!!! Especially being so blessed to have several custom TrainWorx layouts all decked out and on display for public viewing!

Chief Traingineer Roger and Traingineer George were in New York’s Grand Central Station last weekend installing the Lionel Holiday Train Layout in the NY Transit Museum which opens this Saturday, November 16th, 2013. Here is a handy link to bookmark about the event: http://bit.ly/t90mP3

We are still in the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Grand Central Station… well they call it the Grand Central Terminal now but I prefer Station and this is my blog… so….Station it is 🙂

This week our Traingineers are Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Engineer Elves as they have been working on location at the NorthPark Mall in Dallas, Texas installing the TrainWorx Custom Layout made for our wonderful friends at the Ronald McDonald House.

The Trains at NorthPark Event is absolutely, NQA – (no questions asked), a MUST ATTEND EVENT which serves such an amazingly wonderful cause and helps so many families when facing a very difficult challenge in their lives. I don’t have pictures yet but I do have the opening date: Saturday, November 23, 2013!!

October Overflow

TrainWorx Traingineers finished off an incredible October Overflow installing the custom TrainWorx layout for Railyard Hobbies, in Elverson, Pennyslvania. This is absolutely a definite MUST VISIT hobby store!

I say finish off because October in the TrainWorx studio was jam packed with great projects like:

1.2 Million Pounds…On The Move

That’s right! The UP 4018 Big Boy was on the move yesterday on its way to Frisco, Texas where it will join the other Museum of the American Railroad trains!

Yesterday afternoon, Roger returned from the Lionel Customer Service open house to find out the move was on – so he got off the plane…jumped in the car…and tracked down the Big Boy just before sunset:

Get a load of these stats:

The Big Boy hits the scales at 1.2 Million pounds! Required 26 tons of coal, 25,000 gallons of water to be able to pull a 5 mile long train! Wowzers – that’s a BIG BOY.

I thought it’d be great to have the BIG BOY first make an appearance at our 2nd Annual Layout Festival but knew that’d be out of the question, however I’ve got the next best thing – representatives from the Museum of American Railroad will be on hand to share information on all the wonderful trains they have for their new Museum in Frisco. Plus we’ll have representatives from BNSF at the Festival who are the REAL TRAIN MOVERS getting the Big Boy to its new home!! Additionally – we will have a BNSF Railroad Officer here and I’m working on having a BNSF patrol car here as well…this just in – Lionel’s Mike Reagan is confirmed to be here!!
